Take a look at the room where the Cocktail Piano
Series was born. This is the Lewers Lounge in the
famous Halekulani Hotel in the center of Waikiki Beach
in Honolulu, Hawaii. I played in this room for several
years and while doing so conceived the idea of recording
the kind of piano music I played there. Isn’t
it the perfect setting? A room dramatically lit and
luxuriously decorated to celebrate the simple pleasure
of meeting with friends for cocktails and good conversation.
Making the occasion truly memorable calls for the
sounds of a romantic piano played with quiet sophistication.
The Lewers Lounge is the logical successor to the
elegance of the old Canlis Broiler when it reigned
as the premier place in Honolulu to hear fine piano
music in a dramatic setting in the 1970s. Today that
setting is the Lewers Lounge and is not to be missed
on your next trip to the islands. Nothing has been
spared to make this lovely room a classic cocktail
piano venue. We are proud to feature it here at Cocktail
Piano. Were he still with us I think Cole Porter would
have felt right at home here, and so would Noel Coward.
